Tableau Data Analyst Certification

by Hewan Zewdu

I completed the Tableau Data Analyst certification today and I've complied a list of a few tips below to help out anyone who's is going to take the exam soon!

  1. Read the questions carefully

...And try to clearly understand what the question is asking of you - sometimes it takes a few reads to answer the question correctly

  1. Make sure to learn the Tableau Server side of things

It's easy to get used to using Desktop and Prep and put Sever on the backburner, but it is important to understand how the Tableau Server works not only for the certification, but also in general use.

  1. Save your workbooks in the practical section

These get marked so make sure they're saved down so you don't lose any points. I just kept kept on saving throughout just in case!

  1. Once a section has been completed, you cannot go back and check your answers

The exam is split into 3 parts, and once you leave one of the sections and start a new one, you cannot go back to a previous section. Make sure to check over your work (and utilse the Review Question tool to mark questions your unsure of) before leaving a section.

  1. Try out practice exams

A couple of questions in the real certification exam were similar to ones I'd done in past practices, and overall doing the questions helped me out quite a bit.
