If, like me, you were not born in London (or, as in my case, not even born in the UK), then you may still be getting used to the sprawling and chaotic Tube network. For prospective Data Schoolers, here is a handy guide on how to get here on the London Underground.
Located in the heart of the City of London, The Information Lab is easily accessible by multiple Underground lines.
So, what are your options for taking the Tube to The Information Lab?

The closest Tube stations are Bank and Mansion House. Let's look at them in detail.
Mansion House: This is the closest station to TIL, and what I use for my commute. The district and circle lines both stop here, giving links to useful transfer stations such as Embankment and Liverpool Street. There is a handy underground tunnel from the station that pops out just around the corner from TIL on Bow Lane. This is my preferred way to get between Mansion House station and TIL, as it avoids having to wait for multiple traffic lights to cross Cannon and Queen Victoria streets. Very handy on rainy days!
To find the entrance to the tunnel, as you exit the ticket gates at Mansion House, go up the small stairs on your right and follow the tunnel along. You will see it splits, as we can see in the photo below.
Take the left path, and walk a short distance and you'll see a sign on your right pointing to exit 4.
Keep walking, ignoring the passage to your left, and head towards the stairs at the end. Follow these up and you'll pop out in Bow Lane. Turn left at the top of the stairs, follow Bow Lane, and take the first left into Walting St. The Data School is a short walk away, you'll see it on your left.
Bank: This labyrinthine station is notorious for confusing even seasoned commuters. Served by the Northern, Central, and Waterloo & City lines, as well as the DLR, Bank station is extremely well connected. If you’re heading to Watling Street, your best bet is to follow signs for the Poultry exit (as Citymapper labels it), which gives a relatively straightforward walking route to The Information Lab.
