Serena graduated from The University of Edinburgh with an MA(hons) in International Relations with Quantitative Methods in 2020. She spent the next two years living and working in Spain as an English teacher, before joining the Data School as part of DS36.
Since joining the Data School Serena has gained expertise in Tableau, Alteryx and Power BI. She has worked hard to become a skilled Tableau developer, focusing on both design and performance in order to create functional and visually appealing dashboards. As a result, Serena has received recognition as a Tableau Featured Author, earnt two Vizzes of the Day, and was recently honoured in Tableau Next, an annual showcase spotlighting emerging talents in the Tableau community.

As a consultant, Serena has gained experience working with a wide range of clients in sectors ranging from financial services and property management to non-profit, adapting her problem solving skills to meet specific requirements. She has leveraged her expertise to enable clients to upskill their employees and harness the power of business intelligence. From creating newsletters and speaking at events, to developing bespoke training materials and insightful dashboards, Serena has demonstrated her ability to engage audiences effectively and deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each client.
In her free time Serena enjoys reading up on the gender gap, painting and exploring the outdoors by any means possible.
