Robin holds a BSc in Maths and Economics from the University of Newcastle, where they achieved an Upper Second-Class Honours. They then continued their studies at Newcastle, completing a Masters in Banking and Finance, for which they were awarded a Merit.
Robin's passion for data analytics was solidified during their Masters dissertation. This data-intensive project involved cleaning and transforming complex time-series datasets to analyse financial markets. Using RStudio, they coded a BEKK MGARCH model to test the interconnected volatilities between various cryptocurrencies and global stock indices, such as the S&P500. Furthermore, they developed ARIMA models to forecast the future price of gold. This hands-on experience with complex modelling and forecasting cemented their desire to pursue a career in data, leading them to The Data School to expand their technical skillset.
Outside of work, Robin stays very active, playing football three times a week, going to the gym, and playing Padel. They also enjoy testing their knowledge at pub quizzes and watching movies at the cinema as well as socialising with friends.
