Michael holds a bachelor degree from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana with a focus on Economics and Mathematics. He pursued a Master Degree in Economics specializing in innovations and change from the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany.
His love for working with numbers coupled with his exposure to statistical softwares and the power of data during his master studies made him strive to learn a number of BI and analytics tools in order to be better placed in the corporate world.
Out of hard work, Michael was able to clinch his first job as a Data Analyst intern at Carnival Maritime in Hamburg, Germany. Here, his job was mainly data cleaning using Excel and SQL since this was the scope (Data migration) of the project. Michael moved on to Adviqo GmbH where he worked as Data Analyst in Berlin Germany. In this position, he worked as part of the BI team using SQL and Tableau as his major tools for data extraction, script creation, and data visualisation. He served as the contact person between the Marketing Team and the BI team; hosting bi-weekly meetings with all marketing stakeholders of the company worldwide.
Before moving to England, Michael knew already about the Information Lab and upon arrival he worked hard to be employed here as Data School Consultant. The rationale behind this move being the reputation of the Information Lab in the space of data analytics and consulting, and also a platform for further learning and growing my corporate network.
Waiting on his 3rd placement, his 1st was with Lendinvest which was mainly to do with showing the value of Tableau through dashboarding and training. His 2nd was with Infogr8 focused on Power BI dashboarding and data preparation using Alteryx Designer.
Michael has built on his skill through practice, experience and certifications. He is Tableau Desktop Specialist certified, and also having certifications in Alteryx Foundation, Alteryx ML Fundamentals, Alteryx Core, Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
In his free time Michael loves to spend his free time with his family. As a football enthusiast he can usually be found watching the weekend matches.
