Joe has a deep curiosity for how things work and a passion for problem solving whether that’s the daily wordle or cleaning complex datasets with Alteryx. His inquisitive nature and keen eye for patterns fuels a continuous exploration of new tools, techniques, and perspectives to ask the right questions and deliver impactful solutions. For instance, he used Python to web scrape and manipulate datasets in preparation for his data school application. Currently, he is exploring the capabilities of SQL in handling data via tackling a number of SQL challenges.
While working at a BUPA health clinic he assisted clients in interpreting visual representations of their physical health metrics and provided advice on improving long-term health. Alongside his role as a Health Advisor, he developed a semi-automated workflow for tracking blood test results which was distributed to several London clinics. This initiative streamlined communication between physicians evaluating results and health advisors collecting blood samples, thereby substantially decreasing turnaround times and mitigating errors.
During his time studying Physiology and Nutrition (Sport and Exercise Science) at Loughborough University he enjoyed experimenting with traditional scientific journal charts to creatively emphasise research findings. While there, he was exposed to high pressure environments including a year with the Fulham FC first team monitoring GPS data, a performance analyst role for the Leicester Riders Women's, and playing for the Loughborough Men’s Football team.
Outside work, Joe likes to stay physically active by playing football, weightlifting, and running. He also enjoys playing open world single player RPGs and watching Sci-Fi or Fantasy TV shows. Most weekends he can be found at the Emirates Stadium in the hopes of seeing Arsenal lift a trophy.
