Freya graduated from the University of Oxford with an MSc and PhD in Neuroscience, investigating the neural circuits underlying dopamine. She created complete data pipelines in Python, collecting neural data from mice, cleaning and transforming it, creating custom visualisations, and carrying out statistical analyses in R. Prior to that, she studied Psychology at UCL, where she developed a keen understanding of both the human mind and of complex statistical approaches to data analysis.
After finishing her PhD, she wanted to spend more time wrangling data and developing meaningful insights than hunching over a lab bench, and so decided to pivot from science to data analytics. She's excited to learn a brand new technical toolkit with Tableau, Alteryx and Power BI at the Data School.
When she's not thinking about data, she's been known to dressmake, write novels, perform at international jazz festivals, and spend an indavisable amount of time playing video games.
